Yogyakarta – On Sunday April 15th, 2012, the East PAUD Building in Taman Pintar at 09:00 A.M. looked packed with visitors who were spending their holiday with their children. And it turned out the reason why they visited the East PAUD Building was to join a program organized by One Earth School’s Nutrition Education in collaboration with Sari Husada.
This program is held every Sunday from 09:30 A.M. to 12:00 midday and is divided in two sections. Every week this program receives a positive response from the participants who have been coming regularly as well as from the newcomers. Even the visitors from other towns also give a positive response to this program: “This is a good program, what if you also do it in other places and not only at Taman Pintar?” said one visitor from another town.
Seeing children gathering together and then getting the chance play and learn with them is a special experience which cannot be forgotten, since every week there are always kids who make the teacher burst in laughter because of their funny behaviors. One of the children is called Ageng. The innocence and the spirit to learn shown by Ageng reminds us to always be high-spirited and cheerful in learning something.
Cheerful, enthusiastic, and unified, that was the impression of one teacher who became a facilitator for that day. The same zeal could also be felt during a parenting program. Focus and desire to study appeared on their faces. It is evident from the absence of parents who kept going in and out of the room when the program was in progress.
