The 61st birthday of His Majesty Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X – packed within the ‘Devotion Night for the Motherland’ – was conducted in a festive yet civil manner. Among the VVIP guests were Her Majesty Queen GKR Hemas, Prince Hadiwinoto, Prince Yudhoningrat, and members of the Yogyakarta royal family. The event was made more joyful by Beksan Bedhoyo Herjuna Wiwaha written by the late Sage Mpu Kanwa, Sufi Mehfil dance, Whirling dance, salawatan, violin Idris Sardi and Butet Kartaredjasa’s religious reflection.
On this very occasion, Anand Krishna of the National Integration Movement (NIM) presented a special award to His Majesty Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X for being proud of his own nation and culture.
