18th ONE EARTH YOGA & MEDITATION FESTIVAL

Commemorating the 12th International Day of Yoga

Yoga for Holistic Health: Preserving Human Wholeness in an Increasingly Uncertain World

Yogyakarta / Jakarta / Bali, June 2026 — In celebration of the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY),  Anand Ashram Foundation (affiliated with UN/DPI) proudly presents the 18th One Earth Yoga & Meditation Festival, an annual celebration dedicated to promoting holistic wellbeing—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual—amid growing global uncertainty.

Today’s world faces unprecedented challenges: geopolitical tensions, armed conflicts, trade wars, technological competition, economic instability, and rapid social transformation. While human civilisation continues to advance, so too do stress, anxiety, burnout, emotional fatigue, and a deepening sense of disconnection. Progress becomes truly meaningful only when human beings are able to preserve inner balance, mental clarity, and the essence of their humanity.

The festival begins with a pre-event in Yogyakarta on Friday Morning, 19 June 2026, held in collaboration with Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta and attended by approximately 600 participants. The celebration continues in Jakarta on Sunday Afternoon, 21 June 2026 at Student Sports Training Centre (PPOP),  Ragunan – Jakarta with an estimated 500 participants. The Jakarta programme is expected to be attended by Dr. Sunil Karamchandani from the Jawaharlal Nehru Indian Cultural Centre, representing the Embassy of India, reaffirming the enduring relevance of common root of culture between India and Indonesia.

The festival will conclude at Anand Ashram Ubud, Bali, with a special programme titled “Live Yoga: The Path to Inner Peace and Global Harmony”, from 4:00–7:30 PM WITA. The event will feature Meditation & Chanting, Self and Environmental Purification, Samskriti Sindhu, and a World Culture Celebration, reflecting unity, peace, and harmony across cultures.

According to Guruji Anand Krishna, yoga is far more than a physical exercise. “Yoga is the art of living in awareness. When the body, breath, mind, emotions, and soul are in harmony, we rediscover our wholeness. In a world filled with turbulence, peace is not something to be sought outside ourselves—it is something to be cultivated within.”

In response to the challenges of modern life, he designed Ananda’s Integral Meditative Yoga (AIM Yoga)—also known as Affirmative Yoga—a holistic yoga method integrating mindful movement, breathwork, relaxation, meditation, and positive affirmations. The programme is designed to support physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, and is accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Through the 18th One Earth Yoga & Meditation Festival, Anand Ashram in cooperation with AMAYI (Indonesian Association of Meditation, Ayurveda, and Yoga) invites society to rediscover yoga as a way of life—a path towards inner peace, balanced living, and global harmony. For when human beings find peace within themselves, they become capable of creating peace in the world around them.
