Located at the residence of A.S Hikam in south Tangerang (December 31, 2011) Anand Krishna was invited as speakers with As’ad Ali (Vice-Chairman of Nahdatul Ulama) in the 2nd Haul of Gus Dur. The theme was “Thinking about Gus Dur’s Nationality”. The event was started at 10:30 in the morning, attended by several public figures, ambassadors, researchers and other Gus Dur’s friends. They also shared Gus Dur’s experiences and jokes while he was still alive.
When there were people who threatened and wanted to kill him, Anand Krishna said that at that time friend of Gus Dur, sent by Gus Dur, came to offer help and protection for him. Though Anand did not ask or did not feel competent to ask help from Gus Dur. But Gus Dur had a huge concern, so he did not wait for the person who was almost got hurt, but moved quickly to anticipate things that were not desirable.
And about the thought of Gus Dur, according to Anand Krishna, it preceded the time. So many people did not understand him, he was considered mad, and never been consistent. When he became a president, Anand Krishna has said that the presidency was very narrow for him. A president is an executive, while Gus Dur is a Master of this Nation and the Inspirator. An executor should be consistent, but a Master of this Nations never been consistent, he is ever-changing following the circumstances and the era. Therefore, the presidency is too narrow for Gus Dur.
The event which lasted for two hours was also filled by Anand Ashram’s group music that sang some nationhood themed songs.
