Every Wednesday Anand Ashram (affiliated with the UN) organizes meditation practices in the form of singing spiritual songs as a practice of offerings to Him, the Almighty One. Anybody can devote a song, accompanied by guitar, bass and percussion to enhance the serene atmosphere. Other participants can follow the rhythm while singing and clapping hands together. The participants lose themselves in the rhythm of the songs and the serenity of the atmosphere transports them to meditation realm.
According to Yudanegara, exercises like these are very useful to train our feeling and also to train our sensitivity. They also train our faith in Him the Almighty One. All the offerings through spiritual songs are addressed to Him the Almighty One in order to enable us to focus our attention to Him. Other than Wednesday Devotional Song, Yuda also reminds us there are other meditation trainings every day organized by Anand Ashram. There are more than 300 meditation techniques tailored by Anand Krishna for one main goal, namely to empower the self. Hopefully, all the programs can welcome and be followed by anybody.
Anand Krishna’s Guidance
To complete the session on Wednesday January 4th, 2012, Anand Krishna, a spiritual activist who is also a prolific author of more than 140 books in Indonesian and in English was pleased to be able to share his thoughts and ideas with the participants. Anand reminded us that everything has to grow naturally. He gave the example of snow, which does not fall on the archipelago. According to him, ice skating rinks are not necessary in Indonesia, if you want to see the snow and to ice skate you should go to a country which has a cold climate naturally, which has snow and ice. The lack of harmony with nature will cause our own suffering and pain.
To live in harmony with the nature helps our own lives. Therefore Anand also reminded us to observe our eating habits daily. You should eat vegetables and fruits which grow in that place and only when they are in season. To conclude, Anand also reminded us again to work hard always, this particular year is the year of hard work. The same rules apply to every year. Nevertheless, especially for this year we have to work extra hard because the world is changing this year.
