Yogyakarta – On February the 13th, 2012 at 10.30 a.m., we, One Earth Integral Education Foundation (OEIEF) had a chance to meet with the Sleman Regent in the framework of socializing the Educational Program of the Noble Values of the Indonesian Heritage of: Mutual Cooperation and Selfless Work which was designed to be held in the sub district of Gunung Kidul and whose reach was then expected to expand and able to be realized in the district of Sleman.

Our team was warmly welcome by the expert staffs of the Regent Office together with Bapak Puntadi as the Head of the social welfare department, Bapak Arif as the head of the education department of the district of Sleman, Ibu Sitha as the official of echelon four of the curriculum sub department of the education department. The Regent himself was not present due to his business dealing with his duties and was represented by the expert staffs.
The meeting that lasted for one hour went pretty well, in which the good intention of the OEIEF team in promoting and bringing back the noble values of Gotong Royong and Kerja Bakti was enthusiastically welcome by the officials of the Sleman Regent Office. Meanwhile the purpose of the educational program was to promote the spirit of mutual cooperation and selfless work and service to the daily life of all segments of the society, including both parents and children, lay men, government officials, teachers as well as executive, legislative and judicatory officials.
Bapak Arif who spoke on behalf of the decision makers on the educational sectors in Sleman and who was the head of the education department, was willing to give explanation on how such an affection educational process could be best beneficial and efficient for the recipients of the program, since Bapak Arif added, “The affection of education which arouses and develops such noble characters has been an urgent need of our education today”. For the follow-up, the program would be sustainably and continuously realized by both OEIEF team and the authoritative staffs of the Sleman Regent Office.
