Solo – Essentially speaking there is a difference between comfort and happiness. Do Getting a lot of money and having all of things that make us feel comfortable really lead us to happiness?
This question was the main theme of the study circle on the book “Be Happy” written by Mr. Anand Krishna that was held at Anand Krishna Information Center (AKIC) Solo on February 29th, 2012.
Interestingly, the participants came up with the idea that most of people deal with routines and hardly touch and feel the real happiness. Most of people see routines as dutiful burdens. There is no joy in it.
Doing service and putting ceiling on our desires will enable us to have a direct contact with happiness. Humans life is stretching out from birth to death again and again until one can actually transcend both. But our life so far has been limited by our limitless petty desires
Putting ceiling on our desires means making priorities in our life. Deciding what should be prioritized in our life need a life that is lived intelligently. To live intelligently, we really need to empower ourselves and put ourselves as creatures who have free-will to decide noble lives over petty pleasures.
